Air Condtioning and Heat slow to get going

#1 Postby anteater guy » Tue May 05, 2015 3:28 pm

Hi all,

My wife reported to me yesterday that her A/C is acting up on her 2007 GLS Tucson (Manual). It was our first above-80 degree day here in the Northeast, and she said the A/C was not working until she got several miles down the road. Also, every time she stopped at a light, the A/C seemed to stop working. It blew cool air but not cold. It would continue to blow cold only when the car was in motion.

She also claims that this past winter the heat was very slow to come on, taking several miles of highway driving to finally kick on.

What gives here? She say the heating/cooling has been flawless for her since she bought the car (new).

I would check if cabin filter is clean and replace if needed. You can remove the filter and check if it makes any difference.
Thanks,

Compressor could be cycling on and off due to low freon. Add an ounce or two and see if the problem goes away.
