Farewell to our Friend, Itza

#1 Postby Redux » Mon Jun 21, 2010 8:08 am

Hi all,
As you know, Itza fell ill and was admitted to the hospital. I am sorry to say that he has passed away Saturday, June 19, 2010.

As was posted on the Hyundai Owners UK Site:
I am very sorry to have to announce that "Itza" Geoff passed away on Saturday 19/6/2010.
I know he will be very much missed for his sense of humour and comical remarks, he was always ready to help any of our membership with his ready advice and help with finding spare motoring parts.
Trish will let us know when and where the funeral is to be held and says any of our members are invited.

Itza was one of a kind and will be deeply missed by all of us...

Itza was a prominent member and moderator of the forum. He was always looking to help someone, and constantly went out of his way to make sure everybody was getting their questions answered thoroughly.

My sincerest condolences to him and his family, and we'll all see him again one day.
fl. (that one's for you, friend!)
Rest In Peace, Antoon Coolen & Itza -- You brought a smile to all faces of the forum.

I am deeply sad to see this news. I checked daily on the UK forum to see if there’s been a turnaround.

Itza, I will truly miss seeing your posts on this forum, from your quirky posts that always put a smile on my face to your endless help.

Cheers mate, thank you!! :brit:

fl. fl. fl.
I had never met Geoff, but when we go to England in August, we were going to meet Geoff and Trish and go to my birthplace.
What an offer.
I will miss your emails, as I have already.
Rest in Peace my friend.

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free.
I am following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call,
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day,
to laugh, to love, to work or play...
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I found that peace at the close of the day.

If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
a friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with time of sorrow,
I wish to you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one touched.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free!!!

Hey guys, been away for some time & wanted to see why Itza wasn't active on Facebook for a while (since I'm mostly there). I thought I'd come & see if he was active on here, but alas I find this!
I thought maybe he took a long vacation, but this shocked me as I didn't expect it as I'm sure many here too.

R.I.P. my friend & happy driving up there.

I was looking forward to meet him when we did our 50th Anniversary trip to Europe
We ended up going to Buckingham Palace, and the Tower of London (Crown Jewels) and on a Thames cruise, but I still would rather have met Geoff and Trish.
