hew wheels and tires 18inch hankook k104

Shocks , rubber and chrome add to both looks and performance.

Hi,

nice rims! I'm also planning to upgrade to 18 inch rims. (245*45*18)

but have few questions in mind:

is there any disadvantage since you upgraded to 18 inch?

whats the difference in ride?

is there an effect in the MPG, steering weight and rolling speed an power (pick up)?

will it be additional effort for the engine?

would really appreciate your advise.

Can I ask you a question, why do you want to upgrade to 18"? upgrade the look? if the answer is yes, then you don't need the answers to your questions

theorhetically, the answer to all your questions would be "yes". but in reality, the tucson is an SUV. 18" is NOT a large wheel diameter given the profile of the tire and the height of the vehicle. If you were running 20" with low-profile tires, it would be much different. However, the mileage, ride quality and pick-up will be so small you will barely notice it.

Thanks Redux and B805DL. it's all for the looks. some of my friend keep telling me it wont be good that there will be problem if i upgrade to bigger rims this is why i want to know if it is true. Thanks for the reply. now i'm sure that there wont be any issues with the changes i'm planning since all will be minimal.

A theory that I heard that is still okay to up-size the rims two level up, maximum. I have 22" on my Tuc and I had no problem with the suspension system, except I have to repalce the the shock upper mount once a year
